March Challenge...

Oh wow I am sitting in my office with so much energy looking at the time - thinking where did March come from, having filled every moment of the weekend & just feeling so fulfilled.  Been up since before 6am after so few hours sleep & its 11:30pm now and still buzzing...  So many ideas whirling through my brain - with a busy day again tomorrow.

With March here I want to share this months Challenge found at Sketchy Boards Challenge on Facebook.  I saw the Red umbrellas in the photo, the heart & background dots in the sketch.
I took inspiration from what I saw...
I will be honest Red is not my strong point but I gave it my best shot & do I love what the final double page spread turned out to be...
I made a double page layout as I had 2 photos that were 5x8 and really putting those two photos on one page just took up way too much room.  So I had a play around to start with on this beautiful photo of our eldest girl taken years ago.  I literally do just play & see how things end up looking in the end - I don't know, I don't usually struggle, its just a art thing I suppose.
I love working with colours & design.

I did enjoy the end result so much that I decided to work on another page that was almost mirror image, just because I love this photo between Grandma & Granddaughter... Times like these are so fleeting & once they are gone they are gone.  I wanted to capture that forever & as a double page spread I have it.

Journalling is yet to come for these pages... Thinking I might just write it on the back so as not to distract from what I have tried to create, that focal point on the subject in the photo.

May your week wherever you are in the world be looking up & finding time for those you love...cherish every moment even those quickly disappeared ones.  Get your craft out & get to work as these memories are for those within in our lives & part of their future that come from the past.

February Challenge...

Well February is fast sliding on by...  I have moved rooms into our big massive open Granny Flat/Parents Retreat - well its my Scrapbooking Haven now & I have a lot to still sort and finalise as I have a 6 plastic tubs full of items still to find homes for.  I also have my Total Gym in here and I could hold a party in here since I have that much room.

Before I moved rooms I completed this next challenge from the Sketchy Board Challenge found on Facebook, the colour palette for this month "sigh - how I love blue & the ocean" and the sketch that goes with it.

I used lots of mixed media on the background & just played around,  sometimes thats all it is, just playing with ideas & colours - sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.  I had two photos I wanted to use on this layout so I adjusted my ideas to suit.

May you find time to document those photos for your family to enjoy for many years to come.

Christmas Cheer...

Woohoo Christmas is almost here...
Along with it comes the last challenge for 2016 on the Sketchy Board Challenge.  I can truely say I loved this challenge since I went all out mixed media background on my white 12x12 page.

Here is the colour palette for December 2016 & the sketch.

My page where I started with white 12x12 paper & built up from there using - Faber Castell Gelatos plus glitter of course and Dylusion sprays.  I think went onto misting a large oval doily with Dylusions London Blue spray.  I wanted some of the circles from the sketch to enhance my lay in gold & glitter blue so I grabbed the KaiserCraft Circle Vines Die & I love the effect.  Added sequins & Diamonties plus the live happy love today timber words.

Here is a close up of the background work that I did to make my page complete.
Come on over & join in having a little fun even if.  It is a great stress release to have glitter everywhere this time of year & even as my husband says "Honey it's in your hair did you roll in a bottle of glitter?".
Have a Very Merry Christmas & please keep safe during this festive New Year & I shall catch you on the flip side in 2017!!!

A New Month, A New Challenge...

Well this morning the school run has started again...school holidays are finished.  We always spend as much time doing all we can on the holidays as a family, even working with hubby/daddy as well.   Now we are back into the schedule of the school routine.  Today will be spent catching up on housework - cleaning, washing, organising & planning.  I will also be scrapbooking since I didn't get to do very much at all on the holidays...

So on that note...this is the new challenge for the month of October at Sketchy Boards Challenge.

My take on the colours & sketch... I just love blue so I used that as much as possible & I even used the inside of a packaging box & painted it Gold using Kaiser Craft Paint. Well if you follow me you know my layouts have to have bling... so my background hearts are gold embossed glittery goodness lol.  Also there is lots more bling added & I even warmed up my Heidi Swapp Minc & made the gold tag & love this note bottom right of page.
Come on over to the Sketchy Boards Challenge Page take a look at the inspiration of all the DT members & show us your take on this wonderful challenge.

Spring has Sprung...

Spring is here and with it comes a opportunity to be apart of my first ever Design Team (DT) for Sketchy Boards Challenge.  I feel so honoured to be chosen and be apart of this team of talented ladies...
So here is the beautiful colour palette and Sketch for this month.

Here is my interpretation of the challenge - I saw the purple Shell on the bottom right of this picture.  This was then my main inspiration for this page along with white dots that covered the shell - I just couldn't go past the purple and as you know me I love bling so the pearls were added.

I hope that you can pop over to the The Sketchy Boards Challenge and join us in this months Challenge.  Happy Scrapping!!

Rustic Charm...

Well it is a beautiful day in July here down under in Australia - yes it is suppose to be winter but we have seen some very unusually warm days...considering it is winter I had decided today that I would use the Just Add Paper Kit from the D-Lish Scraps store for this month.

Inconjunction with the kit I enjoy using the Inspiration board from the D-Lish Scraps Blog to play around and let my mind wander & see what I can come up with.
Okay so this is definiately not my usual colour style but isn't that what scrapbooking is about - taking yourself out of the comfort zone & playing around.  I hunted down a photo out of my husbands albums and come up with this...and yes as you know me I snuck in some bling too - the black & white paper has glitter on it from the Heidi Swapp range & black rhinestones in the middle of the flowers.
I really enjoyed the challenge and I have yet to write on the journaling spot & on the Documented paper in the little packed but will have to wait for hubby for that information.

Tomorrow is my husbands birthday so we will Love, Cherish and Adore some more...

Challenges for July...

Well howdy there,

It has been a little while but I am here to share what I have created in the last two days... I am kinda in the zone & the creativity is just flowing at the moment which is rather nice.  I decided to try a couple of challenges...love a good challenge when my head is in the game - so to speak.

So first up this layout is my take on the the first sketch for July found here at Stuck Sketches, I tried to stay true to the sketch as much as possible as I really liked the design of this sketch... Oh well you know me Bling it had to have - so this will become a two page spread as I have more photos from this event which is christmas show skate 2015.

Here is the sketch challenge that is featured on the Stuck Sketch Blog.

Second page completed is for the next Stuck Sketch Challenge for July found Here - I really had fun with this having to create my own frames to suite sections of my photos I wanted to highlight.  This is a very special day that made us all cry as our daughter graduated primary school - Grade 6.  Using many pieces of paper a lot of it from the Heidi Swapp collections which I didn't realise until just now as I type this that most of these were her papers.  I kinda found my self on a roll just creating & I like it.

Here is the sketch from the Stuck blog that corresponds to the above Layout.

My last Challenge for this week that I had a go at was
I used the colours that I had for this layout & they seem a lot darker in the photo but I had so much fun creating this & I got another page completed!!  So I am very happy with that.  I worked on a mixed media background on this - really building it up with glitter, embossing powders, heart sequins  & more bling.

While I am on a roll this is the layout that started it all again... Just playing around having fun can kick start the creating process once again.

Thank you for visiting my blog & may you find some inspiration to do what makes you happy!
